My Approach

Starting therapy can be a daunting and confusing process. Often, people are reaching out in a time of need or difficulty. My role as a therapist is to help you navigate the challenges in your life through discussion, exploration, and collaboration.

Research has shown the dynamic and powerful relationship that occurs between client and therapist often leads to the most positive outcomes. I strive to create a welcoming, safe, nonjudgmental, supportive, and at times, challenging environment while utilizing evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), shown to help people with a wide range of problems.

I have over 10 years of experience in mental health and have worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, work-related stress, familial conflicts, and many other challenges. I have worked in a mix of clinical, community-based, and research settings including the University of Kentucky, Rutgers University, and around New York and New Jersey, which has allowed me to work with a wide range of people with physical and mental health diagnoses. I strive to instill a spirit of hope and encouragement that change and growth are possible while you work toward your therapeutic goals.

“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”
