Frequently Asked Qustions
FAQs
What are your fees?
My fees are commensurate with other practicing licensed mental health counselors (LMHCs) in New York City. I also offer a “sliding scale” for out of network care based upon your financial needs. Please contact me directly to discuss your needs.
How often are therapy sessions?
Sessions are scheduled weekly at a mutually agreed upon date and time. Therapy is most effective when done weekly as indicated by many studies and my professional experiences. At times, clients may need additional support, so I offer weekly and twice weekly sessions depending on your needs and my availability.
How long are sessions?
Sessions typically last between 45-50 minutes.
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently listed as an in-network provider for Aetna. For all other insurances, I am considered an “out of network” provider. However, many people have out of network benefits that allow significant reimbursements for out of network care. I encourage you to call your insurance company to verify your coverage and benefits.
Do you prescribe medications?
As an LMHC, I am not qualified to prescribe or dispense medications. However, I often consult and collaborate with medication providers if you currently take medications or are interested in learning more about medication-based treatment in addition to talk therapy.
Do you offer video or phone sessions?
Yes. I offer telehealth options for clients, which research has shown to be as effective as in person services for a wide range of clients.
